Beginners Guide to SEND in Early Years – Part 1

This course will give an overview of supporting children with SEND in Early Years. It will explain the SEND legislation and SEND policy relating to Early Years and will share details of Chapter 5 of the SEND Code of Practice 2015 including advice and support on developing and reviewing the settings SEN Information Report. Participants will leave with an increased knowledge of their responsibilities and strategies for implementing these.

This course is perfect for all practitioners wanting to develop their understanding of SEND and especially those who are new to Early Years and those becoming a SENDCO or entering Management.

This Beginners Guide to SEND in Early Years course will enable staff to:

  • Have a greater understanding of SEND legislation in relation to Early Years Settings
  • Ensure that the setting is fully compliant in terms of SEND and Equality duties
  • Have a greater understanding of Chapter 5 of the SEND Code of Practice 2015
  • Develop an effective and compliant SEN Information Report

This course is delivered by our SEND Expert Lorraine Petersen, OBE whose experience in this field is second to none.

This course is delivered as a stand-alone course or could be combined with our Beginners Guide to SEND in Early Years – Part 2.

We use a lot of different methods to make sure courses are as interactive as possible and do expect delegates to have cameras on and sound on when required.
